Kellie's behavior was dehumanizing Sign In/Join

Her comment to Hilari was inexcusable and one must wonder what the motive was behind it. She needed to get sent home.

Never tell another person how they SHOULD feel. That's not for you to dictate. I cannot see how Kellie could justify that level of cruelty and attack as if she wanted to try to leave Hilari with a bad feeling about herself. Kellie's no-talent butt ought to be the one to be grateful for the invitation to participate.

I know that a lot of interactions are staged and scripted. However, that was something Kellie should have refused to say even if she were “instructed” to say it.

Anyway, she did not listen when David stressed that this was NOT the White Room Challenge, just like she did not listen when the clients listed bunk beds as their primary wish for the boy’s bedroom. I am so glad she was sent home. I never liked her attitude on Design Star.

Yes, I was left with my mouth hanging open when she said that - and cheered when she was sent home. SHE is the one who lacks talent and is a snot besides.

I also thought that Kelli's remark was uncalled for. Maybe she let the fact that she was voted Fan Favorite and has her online show go to her head.

Dan was a Fan Favorite and had his own online show and he was as nice and unassuming as he was on the original show. I really like his work. I know he likes to work with wood, but he doesn't go overboard with it. LOL

I really liked everyone's rooms, but I didn't think Kelli's room looked quite as finished as the others. I also think the judges made the right decision.

This is just my opinion.

I was shocked when she started throwing shade at Hilari. I remembered Kellie as being kind of whiny and needy, but I didn't recall her being a straight up A1 you-know-what.

Terrible behavior, so inappropriate.

I was glad to see her go. Besides being rude and unpleasant (and I'm paraphrasing harsher words here), her room was a huge step down from the other designers' rooms. Glad she was gone quickly.

I was very surprised by her remark. When the cast was announced there were comments on the blog, one was about the bunkbeds. I had commented and Kellie replied. I then asked her why she just hadn't built the bunkbeds and she really explained it. It really was an insight into how the show works, she sure didn't have to reply so I thought it was really nice. That is why I was so surprised at last nights show.

Maybe she thought that being a fan favorite really gave her an edge. I do think it helped her camera challenge. I said on another thread that I think maybe she knew she was going home when she said that to Hilari. Gotta be tough to lose that second chance right at the start. She wanted to redeem her white room challenge, she had obviously been thinking about it for some time, so she saw the white box and didn't really listen to what David said. I also don't think she waited until her room was done to look at all the others. She had to walk past them to get to her spot. You would have thought when she realized how much money they had to spend and the great place they had to shop that this was not a white box challenge.

My mouth was agape at Kellie's unwarranted remarks to Hilari. Unbelievable and incredibly rude. Kellie's room was as unbalanced and sloppy as her character was on last night's show.

Hilari handled those remarks with grace -- much more so than I would have handled them. Kudos to Hilari for creating a knock out space AND having a knock out character.

I cheered when Kellie received her walking papers. How can anyone think they are the utmost best - wonder what her friends, neighbors and clients will now think of her, having seen this episode.

To be honest, I never understood why Kellie got fan favorite in her season. She was never anywhere near my favorite, anyway. She must have lobbied hard on the networking sites to get that vote because she was nowhere near popular on this board.

Her comment to Hilari didn't surprise me at all. She always seemed 100% capable of saying something like that. I don't even think she is aware of how it sounded or what it implied. She is just completely clueless, and unawae of what she is saying. She is also clueless enough not to listen to the point of the challenge. It was specifically stated that this was NOT the white room challenge. So she stands there in front of the judges all clueless, saying she approached it as a white room challenge - D'OH!!! How stupid could you be? She deserved to go home in more ways than one.

I think Kellie got fan favorite because in the first several episodes she was liked, she lost a lot of people here after the bunkbed mess. Remember that the hated Kathy was in the lead, we were trying to get her out of the lead and I think Kellie was next on the list. By the time of the bunkbed episode I think she had a good lead. It takes a lot of votes to move up even one percentage point. Remember that Kellie had her own blog and after she was sent home she really lobbied on her blog for votes.

I think that Dan is probably the only real fan favorite to win. I have done searches trying to find Kellies web show on this site. So far no luck. I don't know how much they get paid to do these, I saw one of Dan's but it's really not that good of a prize, other than bragging rights.

I would not make the huge assumption that Kellie lost a lot of people here only after the bunk bed episode. She was not considered the favorite for many here before the bunk bed incident. I agree with "ntuitive1" and doodles64. I never saw anything good about her design and never particularly found much to like about her. The way she behaved on the All-Star challenge made clear just why I felt that way.

I searched under Design Star Fan Favorite Shows and found several episodes of Kelli's online videos, along with Dan Faire and Jen.

I too was horrified at her "uncalled" for statement to Hilary. It was fitting that she be the one to get booted off firstFrown
