IT IS VERY UPSETTING TO GO ON THIS SITE AND TRY TO GET ON ONE OF THESE GREAT REMODEL OR DECORATING SHOWS FOR INSIDE YOUR HOME AND FOR YARD MAKEOVERS AND LEARN THEY ONLY GO TO VERY FEW PLACES. THOSE OF US THAT LIVE IN LITTLE REMOTE TOWNS IN LOUISIANA AND THE REST OF USA DONT GET THE OPPORTUNITY TO TRY TO GET ON THESE SHOWS. SOOOO DEPRESSING. I HAVE A VERY LARGE YARD I WOULD LOVE HELP IN MAKING OVER AND A LARGE LIVING ROOM AND KITCHEN THAT NEEDS UPDATING IN THE WORST WAY AND WOULD LOVE THE HELP OF THESE PROGRAMS AND DESIGNERS!!!
It would be nice if everyone that needed help with a project could get it from HGTV, but that just isn't going to happen.
Think about it, they need supplies to do the projects, they need them quickly. My town is not that small but it is 25 miles to Walmart, 50 miles to Lowe's & Home Depot. They are going to pick towns with readily available supplies.
The idea behind these shows is to give people ideas so they can do projects on their own. If you want help try posting on a thread for one of the shows that does yard projects. I am sure you'll find lots of help.

Well said, CL! IMO, these shows are supposed to be giving viewers ideas for their own spaces. Long before I got into the design profession I was watching a show one day and saw a simple and quick solution to a problem I was having with my dining room. It was something I'd never ever considered before, but made a HUGE difference. Can't remember the show or anything else about it - but it was a prime example of being able to incorporate an idea seen on t.v. into your own space regardless of if it was for a high end or low end space. And, even if the OP lived smack in the middle of L.A. or NYC, the odds of being chosen to get a yard makeover or other help is remote. She'd be better off playing the lottery to win enough money to have a design professional come in and do it for her.
