Just saw a new preview for this week and David tells them that two will be eliminated this week. Since they are working in teams do you think the team will be eliminated?
Hi, CorvetteLady. I don't think they will eliminate a team. I would hope that it would be individuals. I also hope they take past performance into consideration when they decide who will be eliminated this week. (Of course, I realize that all this is already done and over.)

It should be interesting. IIRC, they don't usually eliminate a whole team when they do a double elimination. It's usually someone gets sacked because they 1) didn't stand up to the other person on the team and do their own thing, or 2) they didn't play nice in the sandbox and it's up to how the judges are feeling that week (and, IMO, the pre-determined game plan) as to which one they'll decide to have a hissy fit about. Honestly, I don't know why this show isn't 2-hours each week. It would be cheap to do as they already have all the footage they need. This way they could kill two birds with one stone - show us more of the "design" process and deliberation, and also eliminate a rerun of HH and HHI. Win/win.
Wouldn't it be interesting to know ~ or maybe not ~ how the teams are selected? A few seasons back, the designers names were in paint cans, and they chose partners that way. Doesn't seem like Miera & Chris are a likely pair, or Bex & Luca either, as the preview clip shows. Good luck to all of them on this week's show.
From what I've seen of Chris he's going to be a little pi** ant to deal with - Miera has probably dealt with tantrums w/ kids and grandkids - I'm roughly her age and sure wouldn't have the patience for his fits.
Luca seems to think he's wonderful so we'll see how he and Bex can handle each other.
Honestly, there is no room in the real design world for prima donnas - a few may seem like that but they make the rest of us just roll our eyes.
I don't remember if they had a double elimination last year, memory is the frist thing to go!
I think Luca was dinged for being the worker bee in the first challenge and he doesn't want that to happen again.
Chris is just full of himself, he has a huge ego and is not a team player. I would think Miera probably is an idea person and has others to do the labor for her, which could be a disadvantage in the team challenges.
I so agree about the show being two hours. I would love to see more of the design process, and also the judges grilling them. I remember one of last years contestents saying they filmed that for three hours, and we see 10 minutes.
CL, I think you're right about Miera. Altho it's handy to at least know "how" to do something, in RL (especially at the ages she and I are) you usually have people to do all that sort of thing. Last year I did a Texas ranch home and was so excited to find an antique ox yoke to hang above the big windows that looked out over the property. Fortunately I have a good enough relationship with the guys at the place I found it that they came out and hung it for me - I can tell you, tho, I had more than a few moments of panic when I realized that heavy sucker was going to be a pain to hang, and was so relieved when they said "not a problem - we'll do it for you". I don't do any installation at all any longer.
First off, the designers really need a little more time than they are given. I want to see better work.
Second, the biggest weakness of the show is that the judges deliberations are way too short. We need more of their opinions and the designing process, too many things are not commented on.
I love the two hour idea for the same reasons given. Have loved this show for years as much as I can't stand Luka because he seems incapable of designing anything. Since he is gone now, I expect Kris won't be long now. I give the edge to Rachel and Danielle. Both first class.
