I am very disappointed to see Hilari leave tonight!
It is so clear to see that she is a talented designer....and her show would be a awesome addition to HGTV. Now don't get me wrong all 3 ladies are good....however Hilari is so authentic..she brings something a interesting spin on designing....something HGTV is lacking. To bad....you guys missed an opportunity to produce a hit. Maybe another network will pick her up to do a show....your lost will be someone elses gain. Best believe I will watch her!

....I am so glad I am not alone.
HGTV is starting to get boring....too many repeats of the same type of shows. Hilari was refreshing...I thought she would be a new spin for the network. SMH!

I really thought they would go for a fan favorite this year. I was so looking forward to watching Hilari. She had it all!

Agree with all of the above! So sad to see Hilari go Frown . I wish she would get the fan favorite vote. For so long it was Yuki(?) but now it looks like Brittany has pulled ahead ?? Don't know how that happened.

I really enjoyed Hillari's personality but I like Brittany's design better. I will admit that I am less than impressed with the judges. They just seem so catty, like they search for something to complain about regardless how unimportant (ie. "I really don't like your photography Brittany." Vern).

I was sorry to see Hilalri go, but then I would have been sorry to see Britanny and Danielle go too. In my opinion these ladies are the best final trio this show has ever seen. I prefer any one of them to any of the winners in the last 6 years. The only other season that I liked the final two was in the first year. Last year's winner was a terrible disappointment to me.

Considering yurts are usually in areas that are green spaces and full of nature the pictures were unedessary.

I am furious that Hilari was sent home. She not only rocked the challenges, she was the most effective on camera. Hilari and Danielle have also won the most challenges out of the three remaining contestants. I told my husband there is NO way they will have two black females in the finals because it's all about ratings and they don't want to loose their majority audience. I don't know what happened with Kim Myles and Myles of Style, but if Brittany wins I am THROUGH with HGTV!

Once again I'm disappointed with Design Star...there is no way that Danielle should be one of the finalist. During the last few challenges she fell way short. Hilari was far better with design planning, execution, and just being more polished. I'm a very happy with the decision. I'll not watch the last episode.

IMO, the judges were thinking that they needed to do what the producers told them to do, though they weren't doing it very convincingly.

I think the producers knew that eliminating Hilari would generate a lot of discussion AND would bring a lot of viewers to the Design Star-All Stars show starting on July 31. It's much like Mondo not winning his season on PR. His elimination caused an uproar, but his supporters flocked to watch him on the PR-All Stars show.

I'm new to the Message Boards, but I wanted to say (against popular comments here) that I have been a Danielle fan from the beginning. I loved Hilary, and if I had my choice, the final 2 would be between Hilary and Danielle, and Britany would have gone home. I know we don't see all the judges' critiques, nor do we see the entirety of the camera challenges, but I think Danielle gets more confident each time, and Britany still struggles with the same thing each time. Hilary has been adorable from the beginning, but I agree with the lack of info. I loved Danielle's design tonight better than either of the other two, but I think she appeals to my style more than anyone has on the show this season.

The windows in the yurt were small and I thought her idea was to bring the outside inside - providing a view of the outdoors from the bed that you would not otherwise have. If that was her intention, I think it worked. But she never really explained that on camera (unless it was edited out), so, from that perspective she failed.

Regarding Hillary's lack of information: After several years of watching HGTV design shows I very rarely hear the designers talked about the functionality of what is in the room unless they are with the carpenter. Yard crashers talk about what they are doing, but then the home owner is actually working for few minutes.

I don't think Brittany or Daniell gave a great deal of information, but Hillary did tell us about her room. Also, the shows are scripted and I believe Hillary can pull a show off.

I think HGTV is going the "safe route" this time. I wonder why they ever took a chance on Ballatore when obviously Hilary is much more popular with the viewers than Ballatore ever was. How stupid they are. It seems like they go out of their way to make the WRONG decisions sometimes. Not that I think some of their other design star winners are without their merit, but let's face it, Hilary is a "total package". She has it all - Humor, personality, talent, originality, you name it. I suppose it's like throwing pearls before swine with HGTV anymore. They recognized a great talent in David Bromstad, but ever since then they've been making many wrong decisions. We keep hoping HGTV will wake up one of these days but it seems like they're determined to fail sometimes. Hence, nothing but House Hunters and real estate shows.....YAWN.

I was under the impression that yurts, far from being in green spaces, were really used in very cold climates where the people followed herds of animals for hunting. In fact barren and cold places.
.
But I agree that the photos of things right outside the window were inappropriate and looked very odd anyway (even if it had been in a cold climate)

Oh BTW I also was surprised to see Hilari go. I liked her room the best and she definitely has camera presence. But they all are good.
