(Parenthetically, hi all...as I said on another thread tonight, I've been on tour with young actors in various shows and haven't been on for a bit--I really missed all of your insights!)

As I said on the other thread--I guess it was Coco Chanel who said that a woman needed only a tan and a strand of pearls. Guess Stanley has a tan and a strand (belt) of tools...

I think Rachel's work may not be as telegenic in the pattern-on-pattern as in real viewing--Miera's installation was a surprise, and I like elements of Danielle's design--

It's interesting to me that the bigger, bolder thinking is the strength, and the lovelier, more delicate choices seem to be the tripping point for many of these designers. At least, she cynically said, in the way the show is eited and presented.

I think you are spot on about the way the show is edited. When I looked at the photos of last weeks rooms and read the commentary there was so much more in each room then they talked about. Suki left a reply on the blog and mentioned the silver bench she did that they didn't even talk about.

I am surprised that they didn't comment about the rooms that were mostly designed using paint graphics. Rachel's room was lovely but the only element that said hardware store was the owls that they didn't like. She really didn't design anything with stuff from the hardware store. Shouldn't that have figured into the judging?

I really think that Mikel had the best use of hardware store items, using the wood to cover the cabinet and the back wall. I thought his rope dividers were really good. He didn't get much screen time.

Does Hilari remind anyone else of Tempest Beldsloe (sp) from the Cosby show? Not looks as much as her voice and mannerisms.
