Danielle won. I don't think they picked the best designer and I certainly won't be watching Danielle's show. Her fake enthusiasm, which the judges shockingly found "cute," came off annoying and forced to me. Not happy at all!
Danielle seems like a nice gal and her design is "fine." But in no way should she host her own show. She is not attractive to look at, she's stiff, she doesn't give any design tips/information and her design style is meh.
She does do a great job finding a great piece here or there, but that doesn't justify a show.
Disappointed, as usual, with DesignStar. But, at least this wasn't potato-body, nasaly Meg.
Dan. won even though it should have been Brit. I will NEVER watch Design Star after this season! I don't get WHY they FAILED to see that Brit. was the BEST designer out of the two. They FAILED to see that she was the BEST a few times. Maybe they NEED to replace the judges. I have always LOVED Vern but Genevieve wishes she could design as good as Brit. Probably why she lost, someone afraid they may loose their JOB to someone BETTER at it. This was the first & LAST season I will ever watch this show.
Looks like I'm in the minority tonight. I am glad Danielle won. Brit is a great designer, but I preferred Danielle's way of incorporating the customer into the design. For me, Brit would lose who the customer was in the design. I think Danielle's show would be appealing to more viewers, she's more eclectic in her design where Brit pretty much sticks to the same thing.
kjm, I agree with you. I guess we're both in the minority - lol. I think Danielle is the better designer. As Genevieve told Brittany last week it's always the same. She needs to change up and she didn't. If you look at her wainscoating (sic) it's a similar design as all the rest of her stuff. In my opinion, Danielle deserved to win.
I think they made the right choice. I enjoyed Danielle's show way more than Britany's. I also think Danielle had the tougher room, with all that art work. She really delivered for the homeowners.
Britany was okay, I thought she was a bit stiff. I didn't like the picture perfect theme either. She keeps telling us she is a photographer but I have yet to see her do anything out of the ordinary. Her rooms looked like a model home, I liked them but other then the family photos I don't think there was anything personal from the family. Plus I really hated that large artwork hanging over the wainscoating. Yet again another graphic wall treatment.
Wish we had gotten a better look at the finished rooms. Can't wait for the pictures.
It was a close race this time but watching the final pilots I definitely think Danielle deserved the win. I believe she can have an exciting show. Congrats Danielle!
I wonder if the designer who wins is selected based on the area they want to cover. Perhaps Danielle's coming from the east trumped Britney's Phoenix location. I really liked Britney's style. Has there been a Design Star from the southwest? I don't think it was a coincidence that last year's finalists were both Chicagoans. And I love Meg's Rooms. She's no beauty queen but she really does "great" rooms, uniquely geared to the homeowners style.

I'm there with you two. I'm satisfied with Danielle as the winner. She seemed a little stiff, but I think she has a lot of potential, and I enjoyed her pilot a lot.

I liked Danielle's pilot idea, but I knew the fix was in when they cancelled Hillary's show instead of Danielle. She panics too much and has problems finishing a room. I will have Brittany design my house any day. Great eye!
I enjoyed the show. It was close but I think that Danielle stayed so focused on her clients was the winner. She really got their style and encorporated them into the room. Not to mention her pilot was cute. Contrats Danielle!

I think Brittany might be the better designer, but she lacks the personality for a show. So does Danielle really, but out of the two of them...
I won't be watching her show. And I don't think I'd have either of them design my house. But I wish them both well. Hope there is more talent next time.
