Question on "Remember Me" When Entering Contest Sign In/Join
posted
Hi all, I've been checking the "remember me" box when entering the contest on both HGTV and Front Door. When we do this, we're supposed to be able to enter our first name the next time and our information will populate onto the form. In past years, I've been able to do this, but this year it's not working for me. I suspect it has something to do with my cookies and Internet Explorer settings. Any suggestions? I apologize if this topic has already been discussed, but I searched around and did not find it.

Hello FlyDi Smile yes ck your settings to see if that helps. This board is full of informative dreamers but most haven't/won't gravitate home.

I only entered my information the first time. Right up at the top of the form, it says something like, "We see you've entered before. Would you like to enter again as _____?" I just click on my name and voila! BTW, I use Chrome.

Hello! This year the set up is slightly different as mentioned already. You have to wait until you receive the message just above the entry form that recognizes your name (if you clicked the last box on the form the previous time requesting that your information is saved).

Good luck to all! As usual HGTV has outdone themselves on this beautiful home.

I was happy to see that whatever the change made was... this year I'm finally able to enter each day without putting in all my info again. Yay! much easier!

entering is so seamless now. much better! i do notice with my connection/computer, it takes a bit to fully load up. the prompt "It looks like you have done this before. Would you like to enter as John or Jane?" always loads last. It took me a few entries to realize this. Maybe you aren't giving your page enough time to load up fully?

Hi everyone, I thought I'd report back on this in case others have been wondering. It *was* related to my Internet Explorer cookies settings, as I suspected. I have the privacy slider set to medium, which blocks cookies. However, I discovered that you can allow cookies for certain websites. To do this go to Internet Explorer - Tools - Internet Options - Privacy Tab - put the slider at Medium and press the Sites button - then enter the website addresses of frontdoor.com and hgtv.com into the address bar and press the allow button. Cookies will now be allowed for those websites. Hope this helps!
