I also like the green chairs. I went on Ethan Allen's website and they have a striped green fabric I actually like better than the solid green. I'd mix 'em up and have the wicker ones on the end, some solid green and some striped green ones.

Simple to get slipcovers that are both washable and functional in a color you like...not minding the green per se but in one spot on the special the lighting or something is off and the pewter cupboards and 1/2 the art piece look purple and THEN? Those green chairs and the purple made me think ewwwwwwwwwww....but honestly? The first thing to go in the entire home are those 3 white urns under the art piece in dining room shelf...they look like well...things to put our loved ones in after they pass....Roll Eyes...then maybe the art piece...once I remove both of those maybe the art can help diffuse the green chairs a wee bit...can't see tomato based dishes surviving on that material!!! Eek Maybe it is indoor outdoor like the upstairs furniture?!?!Wink

GreenAlice, I went to a chef's wedding and the colors were eggplant and wasabi. It was quite stunning. I like purple and green together. Each to her own, said the old lady as she kissed the pig. My grandma used to say that all the time. Now I'm going to look at the urns since you so vividly described them.....LOL

My3.....you are right sometimes they DO look good together....sorry if I ruined the urn thing for anyone but that was my first impression and when I revisited, they still were detracting objects from the room imho. I was thinking a nice large b/w photo of some of those spanish moss trees would be nice for that space...even one that was retouched with a subtle hue of green overwash on the trees.....or with a green frame? Wink

The thing that gets me about the urns, is that where they are - on a busy "thoroughfare" - they are just begging for an accident.

That TOO!!! Good point....you see we already have to find a new home for those cute seashell urns next to stove, THOSE I like but need new home....and can't go in place of those urns either for same reason of breakage capacity. Linda did put less clutter in this home but urn placement is issue easily addressed!! Big Grin

oh I knew those chairs would be re-upholstered the very first time I saw them!! AND....several men I've shown these house pictures to also made a comment about that green and those chairs.

But, after all, I thought that's why they give you some money for your own decorating....new paint (tone down the green, king bed, upholseter the dining chairs, just a few minor things...)

I'm not a huge fan of that shade of green, but it does make a welcome change of pace from Blue, Blue & more Blue Coastal decorating.

I just went to Ethan Allen.... score for them for advertising w/ the Dream Home!

I went for a new sectional but will also be getting a few other new pieces for the living room. When the designer/sales person asked me what I wanted, I said I want the HGTV Dream Home. He said he is gonna hook us up with a Dream Home living room. I'm SO EXCITED!

Anyway.... point being they have so many fabric options, including sunbrella fabric which is really sturdy and stain resistent even for indoor use. Maybe the chairs are sunbrella fabric?

Really Silly?! That is fun! Then you can Dreamhome in your living room 24/7. Big Grin

When in Target this week I walked by the slipcovers and saw some that looked like they would easily go on dining room chairs in either a dark khaki or medium brown....nice washable and color coordinated for those green averse. Cool
