I'm in Clifton, Illinois, about 80 miles south of Chicago and only about 20 miles or so from the Illinois/Indiana border. I, too, wish we had more folks dropping by this board. Ah, well, all we can do is keep showing up and hoping that others do, too.

Hello All,
I troll mostly as I have been extremely busy with Christmas and babies crochet. I made almost three dozen pair of the hotmats featured here a while back, 5 amigurumis, snowflake table runner and the reversible shell for an adult, and a cocoon+hat and baby blanket, two sets of adult hats and scarves and to be honest don't remember what else. I am finishing up a baby blanket and starting another cocoon. Am told that the first cocoon I made, the baby was placed in it and immediately went to sleep, it happened everytime the mother placed him in there.
But you all are right, it doesn't rock like it used to. Part of it is other social networks such as Multiply and Facebook.
Hope we see all our cohorts return now that the holidays are over.

Peppermintpattie - care to share the pattern for the cocoon? I have looked at several patterns but really haven't like any of them so a tried and true one is what I need. Thanks

I haven't been able to check the boards like I would like to. We went over to the other VA center here in St Louis, MO and just got back today. Hubby had his surgery and that is doing okay he just isn't feeling too good right now.

Marlena, I pray the VA service in your area is better than in TN. My hubby was treated for COPD for 5 years and never tested for anything else. I had him go to a local "civilan" Hospital and the found he had Mesothelioma cancer two weeks before he Passed away!
That is one thing that has kept me off the site, I am adjusting and trying to get back to life.

Inez,
The VA here has been pretty good here. Hubby didn't want to come here. But they have been good to him while we have been here. I am so sorry that your hubby didn't get the right treatment.

Hi Drema, hi everybody. Hope someone remembers me. I disappeared from the board a long time ago without notice and I apologize. Personal problems kept me away from happy chatting, but I never forgot you and I missed you. Just checked in because I found a great link on Craftster which I will share in a separate post. I hope everybody is well. Promise to come back regularly again and help to revive the board!

Hey Linda,
Your 'old name' sure rings a bell. Weird how someone can steal your user account without you getting a notice of your account being blocked or something, anyhow I was worried about getting back in on my old credentials but luckily no problems. But apart from that I saw many familiar names in this thread and I'm very excited about getting back in touch. Anxiously waiting for more reactions...

Oh Yes I remember your name Kobus, Hello.
Been on here off and on, but lately these Golden Years have been keeping me busy too.
I miss coming on everyday and reading all the important things. On the needlepoint board I'm known as nuquiltr. Just have to keep in touch so I won't lose track, you know, Senoir Moments, LOL

I am just seeing this message. I come on and look from time to time...I don't crochet as much as I use to but I love seeing what others do. I will pick up a hook soon as I love to crochet in the fall and winter. I do have a blanket half finised and like to make pot holders, hats, scarves, mainly little things now. Will try to be more active, I promise

I haven't been on for a couple years also. Guess I got too busy with FB. Tired of playing games and all the drama on FB. Realized a couple of days ago that I really missed being here! I have been busy knitting and crochet mostly baby things for the grandchildren, afghans and clothes for the American Girl doll. Tonight I needed to find some mindless project so I started a potato chip scarf.
