Does anyone have a suggestion for a pattern source for an oval shaped doily? Most every doily pattern I have seen is round.

Would have sent a PM but see you don't care to have those. I believe I might have something for you if interested, I am a doily diva, and I am wanting to share. Get my private email from the private section, and mail me, we can talk!

Have a great day!!!!!

Yetieddy posted this link in another thread. There are some great doilies in the link including oval ones.

Thank you ladies for your replies. Smile

I want the doily to fit on a narrow table. I haven't yet found a pattern I feel confident enough to try. (There was a beautiful one with multitudes of pineapples that looked too intricate to attempt. Eek ) I'm now considering making a table runner from repeated motifs to fit the table top instead.

Quilt Crossing, send me along your email in a PM, I will send you a picture of the oval type doily i have used on my gateleg table. I used size 30 thread i think, or maybe 20, but it turned out nicely, and is pineapples, you make the round part first, and then add the sides, going back and forth, really easy, and very pretty, at least I think so, I collect pineapple doilies, and lots of other piney things as well. I wanted to send it to the forum, but is too large for that, sorry, don't know how to make it smaller.
Will await hearing from you.

Have a great day!!!!!

Since both of you are pineapple lovers, I hope you got the Annie's Attic free pattern today. It's Pineapple Cross with Red Roses.

Elaine, I have given up on trying to find a pattern that I don't already have. It seems they are so similar now, that what I have collected over these many years, a stitch here and there to change them is all that is done.
I have binders, and binders of patterns, vintage and up dated, I see something I think I might like, and keep it, I don't necessarily go out of my way anymore to find them. Far more patterns in my stash than I will use in a lifetime, or yours either. I went whole hog a long time ago, and still have more to go thru.
I only hope that QuiltCrossing can find something she likes.

Have a great day!!!!!

I'm the same way. I have a file drawer full, books and even more saved to disks. I know I'll never get to them all but still see one once in a while that I just can't resist. At least this addiction won't hurt me.
