It has been a really long time since i tried to make one. Does anyone have a pattern, or can give me an idea how to make one without it being a big square? I know you start at a point[corner], but remember when or how to make it oblong not square. help will be appreciated.

Had no luck finding my copy of this pattern, but do remember it. Ch 6, sk first three ch and dc in 4,5,&6. Ch 6, turn, and dc in 4,5,& 6, sl st in top of first ch space, ch 3, 3 dc in ch space. Ch 6, dc in ch 4,5,&6, sl st in ch 3 sp, ch 3 , 3dc in ch3 sp, sl st in next ch3 sp, etc. Keep adding ch3, 3dc blocks until you have reached the desired width. On next row, turn and slip st in the tops of the 3dc you just made and sl st in the next 3ch sp, ch 3, 3dc across the row. Add to one side and subtract from the other until the afghan is as long as desired, then subtract from both sides until you finish in the corner opposite your starting corner. Now, is this as clear as mud? Hope it reminds you enough that you can figure it out. HTH

I love this site. I can surf here and come up with the loveliest patterns. I started one this evening and am 1/3 done. It's easy, fast, and gorgeous!

I have made 3 afghans with this pattern. They all look complicated and different. It all depends on the colors and striping pattern you use.

My DH spilled an entire coke on my afghan! Thought white yarn would be elegant. Ran to the sink and drenched it then blotted it with towels. So sad;(
