CA LoriI've made several eyelash yarn scarves and they measure 58 inches (I think I used 2 skeins per scarf, not sure though).
I made one of those ruffle scarves (don't know what it's called since I threw away the wrappers) and it is 49 inches long. I believe I used the entire skein of what looks like netting where you insert your needle through one of the holes in the netting. It is a dark navy/brown with a metallic thread running through it (very dressy and quite pretty).
My Korean friend knit me a 53-inch scarf using 4-ply knitting worsted yarn.

lindaj52I usually crochet my scarves to a length of 40 to 54 inches, depending on the type of the yarn and the size of the hook. If it's a fashion type of scarf, I might make it shorter, but if it's for warmth, I like to make them long enough that you can wrap them a couple of times.

LI RoeI normally make adult scarves about 60", sometimes a few inches longer for taller people (I am 5'1" so I judge by my height). Childrens scarves are shorter. Sometimes the pattern is a certain length only because of the pattern stitch.

I M JoyceIsn't the scraf pattern printed inside the label on that yarn? I suggest you just follow the pattern. Those people research popular length and colors when making the patterns and yarn colors.

Yes it does say but I just wondered what other folks do.. I also crochet them not knit. I don't knit.
I made one that is about 45" for a teen. In pinks she loved it.
