We inherited this dining room set and was told it was "Spanish Style" but the barley twist legs are not on any of the Spanish Style furniture I have found on any websites. They bought it in the 60's in San Francisco.

Any comments or help would be welcomed, Thanks!

One of the chairs, the table has the extra leaves that store under the table at the ends.

I washed it with Murphy's Oil Soap and so far only one buffing with Lemon Oil.

Well, the inset spindles on the hutch do give it more of a Spanish feel, but most of the rest of the elements (barley twists, shell motif) seem English-influenced. And the general knobs and framework remind me of some furniture (a sideboard and a china cabinet) I have from about the 30s.

    What a puzzlement!

The furniture reminds me of a set I was ogling at an antique shop a couple of months ago. It had a sticker on it that said "Castle Oak" and was from the 1930's. Does your furniture have any markings at all?

Thanks for the replys, no markings anywhere, heavy heavy furniture that is sure. A friend told me it looked like Castle furniture from Hurst Castle.
Thanks again for the help, will do some more searching with your "Castle Oak" and "English" terms.
