We just recently purchased a 1927 5' clawfoot tub and had it refinished. We completely gutted our bathroom & are in the process of putting everything back together with our new tub. The problem is that the legs to the tub won't stay on!! We don't know what to do. We bought new bolts, it still had the original ones, but when we lifted it to move it one of the legs shifted like it was gonna fall of again. I'm scare to death to put it in now & try to fill it with water & it fall with someone in it!!! Anyone delt with this before? Any suggestions? TIA!

Question: were the legs OK when you first got it? Is there any chance the legs were switched while @ the refinish shop? These tubs came in different sizes,4' or a 6' would have different legs for instance.....just a thought.

Good luck, this must be very frustrating!

Thanks guys, I'm not so sure these feet go with this tub. Unfortunately, we've put so much **$ into it already I don't want to even think I have to get new feet!! Did find a website thanks to someone on the bathroom board that sells straps for under the tub. Think that maybe the way to go!! Again, I appreciate it!
