My Dad found this item at an auction. He has had a lot of trouble finding any information about it. He has been told it is a lingerie washing machine, but no dealer in our area could really find solid information on that. It contains the following info: Montgomery Ward Chicago, Model 1910; 2 Amp - 115 volt, 60 cy. AC only. If you know what this is, could you let us know? We also would like to know how much it would be worth if selling it. Thanks.
it looks like some kind of kitchen cooking appliance. Have you looked up Montgomery ward things? You could check some books in the antiques/collectible section of a book store. You could ask the Kovals. It is worth what your dad paid for it at auction. That was the market value.

What does the inside of this "appliance" look like? What happens when you plug it in? What is that circular thing in the middle of the lid?
The slits on top look like vents one would find on an appliance with a heating element.
Really impossible to say what it would be worth until you know a lot more about it. Doesn't look all that old to me and if you've plugged it in and nothing happened that means it doesn't work which seriously reduces the value. I disagree that the price paid at auction is market value, it could be but not necessarily. People get taken at auctions daily and also get really good bargains. Depends mostly on demand but other factors as well.

I did find out that it is a apartment size portable washing machine that many young couples used after WW2 they used it for smaller things like cloth diapers and etc.I found this information from a man that owns a washing machine museum. It does work. When plugged in there are blades on the inside of the lid that move around. It is in excellent shape.Still don't know how much it is worth. But thank for all your help.
