    I recently purchased a secretary at an auction. It has 4 drawers at the bottom (curved), then the pull down part that you can write on, then on top of that is glass doors for sort of china hutch/book shelf thing. The top has scrolls and is probably about 6+ feet tall. Inside the desk part is quite a few little compartments, a door in the center, and "secret compartments" on either side of the little door. The front two legs are sort of claw feet......but not the back two.

    Have I given a good enough description? I am curious as to whether this is an antique, or just "old"!

    This looks like a 'Governor Winthrop' desk. I have one like it, and from what I understand from the person I got it from, it was made in the 1930's??
