I am looking for information regarding some old white dishes I have that have no mark on most of them but have a USA mark on the bottom of some of them (cups & bowls) I found one at this website if you would like to see a picture. http://www.tias.com/10634/PictPage/1922928468.html
They have a scalloped edge. I would like to complete the set, but have had no luck trying to find out any other information on them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The shape looks like Homer Laughlin; perhaps the Hudson blank, which dates from the early 1900's. You might check eBay for similar pieces.

    Good luck!

Hi, I have been collecting these for many years. I do not know who made them. I have believed they are maybe from the 30's or 40's. I first bought a stack of about 12 plates at a church rummage sale. I now find them at the Goodwill and Salvation Army stores and garage sales. I have over maybe 70 pieces, platters, plates, cups and serving bowls. I love them. I use them every day and haven't found anything "new" that interests me. I add them to my displays of all things white and cream in my grandma's china cabinet. (You shouldn't have to pay much for each item. ) Happy hunting.

Thank you so much for the response. I am still looking!!! I know they are not "fine china", however, I just love them. My grandma had a set and I am looking to complete the set I have. I only have a couple of each piece, plates, bowls & cups. If you find out anything else let me know!

You could try contacting Replacements.com. They helped me replace missing china and silver pieces from my grandmother's sets. You can work via email with a representative for free and they will search their stock for your pattern, help you identify it and send you an updated list of what they have in stock regularly via email. You can also work with them over the phone but the email arrangement works very nicely. I am not sure where you are located but Replacements is in Greensboro, NC. They are a great help face to face too, my SIL is a great customer of theirs. Happy hunting!

    Replacements is SO expensive, though.

If you have the time to search eBay, chances are good that you'll find it.

It's pretty rare NOT to find something there. Smile

Thank you so much for the response! I have looked through ebay..page after page after page..and had no results. I did an internet search for "old white dishes" and "vintage white dishes" and that is how I discovered the platter (which I purchased). I thought if I could determine who made the dishes, what the name of the pattern is..it might make it easier to find more of them. I feel like I am on a mission to find these dishes and complete the set. I have never done this before so I am at the beginning of the learning curve! I know absolutely nothing about china, or patterns so it's difficult to know where to start. I appreciate any and ALL help! Thanks a bunch! RoyceAnn

I don't know what it is, but I don't think it is Homer Laughlin His dishes are usually marked. I have a couple of his pitchers and they are all marked.

    Good luck and enjoy

    Blessings, Cara

I must be missing something here. I opened the link that was posted, and the only plate I see is rose & burgundy. Can someone please single out which dish it is and post it? My mother has collected all types of dishware for over 40 years, and I could run it by her. She seems to know what most everything is. Thanks.

They must have pulled the picture. I bought the "platter"...turned out to be smaller than the plates! I will take a picture of one of the dishes I have and try to post it. Thank you so much for the response! RoyceAnn
