Antique Bottle question Sign In/Join

I found a bottle that reads Dr Kennedys Medical Discovery. After Googling- I think it is probably from around the 1870's. It has weird mini-charcoal pellets in the bottle. Are these bottle valueable and did those old tonics have charcoal like ingrediants. Thank you.

Without a photo, it's impossible to guess value, Ask local bottle collector clubs; also, retailers and Ebay to determine the ASKING prices for similar bottles.
Remember although a bottle requiring a cork "stopper" is older than one with a metal screw cap, Value is determined by rarity, condition, color, embossed glass, intact label, etc.
IMHO what appears to be mini charcoal pellets is residue that remained in the bottle after the original liquid evaporated. (Several in my collection contain residual dust particles)

Thank you for your reply. It does have the cork top. I am so glad I left the charcoal in!

I have to agree with tessa. It would be hard to say how much the value might be without the picture of it. How many of it was made?
