Hello,I have received from a deceased aunt several pieces of hand painted Bavarian china with gold trim. Can't find a good book with any information about this china? Can anyone help me find a book or some information? This china is at least 50 plus years old. Thank's for any help.
Look for the maker's name or mark on the back. Then Google like crazy. If you can identify the pattern that way, you might check ebay for the value of your set. If course it all depends on if the china is perfect and complete. Good luck.

I've collected hand painted china for years. Do you think yours is part of a set of china or individual pieces? China marked Bavaria doesn't necessairly mean it was made in Bavaria, not entirely that is. Much of it was greenware made in Bavaria nd shipped to Europe and the US to be handpainted and fired. There were many womens guilds in the late 1800's and early 1900's that hand painted china. They were like quilting bees except they painted china. It's gotten more expensive in the past few years and become quite collectable. Can you post a picture of your plates?
