I found a nice banjo barometer/thermometer at a church sale and I'm trying to find out the maker. The mark is on the face of the barometer and is "O" then an image of an anchor and then "C." Anyone have an idea who the maker might be?

Periwinkle, I'm not sure if this is it or not...but type in "chelsea pottery anchor" into your search bar. A lot of info comes up but like I said...not sure if this is the maker of your piece or not.

According to my research, Chelsea Pottery did use an anchor symbol on some of their pieces.

    Hope that helped.

Thanks. I don't think that's it, though. Quite a few companies use anchors. In fact, the day after I found the barometer, I found an antique butcher's knife with an anchor on it. Luckily, that had the maker's name on it. Stuff from Birmingham, England often has anchors, so I'm thinking the barometer might be British. I don't think it's old, old, but I'm not really up on scientific instruments.
