While growing up, I enjoyed reading Laura Ingalls Wilder books. Yet now the books that I have are just sitting in boxes and have been there for years. Do you think they are worth anything? Should I look into an antique store or eBay to try to sell them, if you think that the books are worth anything?
Thanks for your consideration. I will appreciate any feedback you can give me.
They're worth something, but not necessarily very much. I assume you're talking about a full set of 9 paperbacks in the box? Depending on their condition, on eBay those apparently go for anywhere from $10 to $40 (minus fees and shipping costs). If you have older or otherwise special books, those would likely go for more, and it would probably be worth asking at an antique or used book store. I know that the used book store in my town buys the Little House books, but I'm not sure what he gives for them. (You might also try half.com, which is easy to use if you're already set up as an eBay member.)
As you probably know, you can often get more for a given item selling on eBay (or half.com), but it's more effort on your part, there are upfront costs, and you have to hold onto the item until it sells. Selling to an antique store or used book store, on the other hand, requires little effort and gets the item out of your house, but you're only going to get a fraction of the retail price.

I had a full-boxed set and enjoyed them very much- read some to my children- I ended up giving them to my little niece- who is all grown up now- and she is saving them for her children one-day.
They do not sell for more than I paid for my set in the 80's. ~~Valery~~

Thank you for writing and sharing your thoughts with me regarding the books. You have written some very practical things to keep in mind. I am glad that you took the time to write.
