I have a collection of vintage needlepoint purses that I would like to display. I used to have them hanging on the wall, arranged with vintage floral plates. This was an idea from an old Victorian Times magazine...however, I am ready to redecorate and need newer, more modern ideas for my treasures. Does anyone have any ideas or has seen a similar collection dis[alyed?
One idea? Glass topped coffee tables can sometimes have a shelf added under the glass. It can be a nice display case for many items. And of course glass windowed, shadow boxes of all types of designs, can be hung on the wall with the purses and kerchiefs/linens/jewelry added to the mix.
Go to an antique shop and see how they are displaying their items. I have found that china cabinets can be wonderful pieces for displaying collecitons. Painting the inside a color that will make the purses pop is a plus.

Antique collectors recommend displaying textiles away from direct sunlight, and protected from dust & oils (including direct contact with wood). As Conrad posted, look for a "coffee table" with a glass topped display area and drawers in which to store overflow items awaiting a change of scenery
