Help with age and value please
I know its how just how old I don't know. I was thinking about putting it on craigslist for 25.00. It has a wide dresser and a make up thingy also.

Do you know the age and is it worth 25.00? Should I put it on craigslist?

Thank you so much.

Please don't sell this without determining more about it. Could you take a picture showing the whole piece. Right off the bat I would say $25 is way to little. That looks like flame grain mahogany. What are the dimensions? What kind of joinery (dove tailed or staples?) more photos would help including one of the interior and what do you mean by "thingy"

Thank you so much for responding. I will get the measurements tonight.

The thingy is something that was used when they sat down to put their make up on. Would it be a vanity?

Thanks!

This is the inside draw - all the same
dove.

I know fly but I just don't know what to do with them.

I have not found any distinct marking but I did not turn them upside down to look either

Any information you all can tell me, would be greatly appreciated.

THANK YOU!

yes, those are dovetailed drawers (sign of age and also of fine furniture)

Helen, that is a very beautiful set of furniture. More like $1,000 for the three pieces than $25 each! However that is all contingent on your area and how sophisticated your potential customers would be and also on the state of the economy in your area. If you have a consignment shop near you, you could take in pics of the furniture and ask them what they would charge if they had them in their shop.

I would not recommend selling them that way though as they usually take 50%. Craigslist would be a better way to go.

Also if you have any nice auction houses near you you could email them the pics of the furniture and ask them what they would expect to get for them if they had such pieces in one of their auctions.

Good luck!

Thank you so much for your time and responding to my post. I will send the pics to a very nice auction house near me.

I am actually having second thoughts about getting rid of them. Thanks!

DEFINITELY worth more than $25 per piece! You have a beautiful set in your possession. If you don't need the room or the money, you might reconsider selling them. If you do decide to sell them, I hope you get a fair price!

That dresser and mirror is lovely. A princess room needed for that!

Do a little research to get an idea on pricing. My suggestion would be to sell them on consignment through an antique mall. Check in your area. The consignment shops around here would kill for these pieces. Also, they will help with the pricing.
