I have a small bowl, pointed oval (think football) shape thata sits on a matching (same shape) plate/saucer. Perhaps a serving piece. it is marked Hand Painted NIPPON. The words are written around a "wreath" that has the letter "M" in the center of it.
Does anyone have any info on this?
I've been all over the internet. No luck, so far.
    thanx

Hi stormmom...From the description of your mark it sounds like one that was introduced in 1911 and used until 1921.

I think you'll find your mark here:
