This is my first time of even looking at this message board but maybe someone can guide me. When I was a little girl, my brother was stationed in Japan during the Korean war. He recevied a little post card picture of me at age 4 or 5, black & white, and had an artist paint the photo in color on silk. It was rolled up like a scroll and my Mother framed it. I can read the name on the print but don't know how to find out anything about the artist. My brother was in the Navy and just recently passed away at the age of 78. I can post the name if anyone thinks they can help me. I am now 60 years of age and I would love to find out about artist, etc. Thanks so much.

Go to the forum at asianart.com and post a picture there. Sometimes it takes a few weeks, but usually an expert will look at your post and give an opinion. If it's a well known artist, other forum participants might respond with the answer.
Why not post the name? I took a few classes in Asian Art, although the odds of it being an artist I've heard of are probably pretty slim (because then it would be worth a bunch!). But maybe we could help you try to track it down.
