In the sixties my father bought me three dolls, a mother, father and young daughter, I believe there was also a teenage daughter. They were slightly bigger than Barbie dolls and could not wear Barbie clothes. The mother had long black hair with a white streak. Please let me know if anybody remembers them.

Sounds like Lily Munster or maybe an early version of Kitty Bartholomew? Big Grin

Sorry, but I don't recall any either. The only family dolls I can recall were Tammy, her Mom and Dad and Brother/Boyfriend.

Madam Alexander dolls came in many varieties and sizes however. If you can find a book on them at the book store, might be worth a look?

If you can't post a picture, look on ebay. Not only do they have many old dolls, they also have books. Try searching vintage dolls, 60s dolls.Books will pop up under 60s dolls.

They could be from IDEAL dolls. There were a set called Tammys family, they came out in 1960 they were around 11 1/2 " tall. These were the kinda like the generic barbies but taller. I looked my doll books from that era and that was the only ones I found.

Tammy and Barbie were the same height but not proportions? Tammy was sort of preteen. Thicker waist, bigger head. I still have one and her Mom too. But my particular Mom doll has ash blond hair piled in a french roll-no white streak anywhere.

I'm so excited...I went on ebay like Becky suggested and found the dolls. They are "The Littlechap Family" by Remco. There was a father Dr. John, a mother Lisa, a teenage daughter Judy and a 10 year old daughter Libby. Thank you guys for your help.
