Hi all! I am new to the forum and just wanted to check in and say hello! I hit some yard sales this weekend and found this really neat old gas can and was wondering if anyone knew anything about these sorts of things. I can say I am clueless but thought it was cool and could be really decorative. Looking for any info, age, maker, possible value? Thanks for any info.

i will try to add more pictures later!

Husband says it is probably from the 1960's or 1970's due to the safety valve on the opening. Not old, but this type of gas can will never be manufactured again and are becoming very collectible. I have no idea as to the value, but saw a couple a little older than yours, at a flea market, and they were going for $25.00 each. Of course, I live in Texas, prices for collectibles vary.

Not so fast, niki...just do a search for "metal gas can". You'll find a number of them very similar from $30 to $130 new! They're safety cans used in places where fumes must be contained.
