There must be hundreds of pressed and carnival glass patterns. Asking beyond hope...is there an easy way to identify the patterns? Or if someone here on the boards knows about these things. I can take individual photos once I get it all done and match up sets, if there are any matches. After cleaning all these pieces, they all start looking the same. LOL. Once I know the pattern it will be easier to look up the value. I've been going through some of the cupboards in mom's house and I'm staggered at that amount. Attached is a photo of just two cupboards in the house...and there are others!
Pattern glass I would look om ebay. The fan shapped plate on the pic on the right is a snack plate. Pattern is daisy and button.
Tina - I just learned of the ddoty site and found it a wonderful source for info on carnival glass.
We also just inherited several of the snack plates - How wonderful to know more about them....

Hi, I have a small collection of pattern glass. My grandmother was an antique collector and she gave me a few pieces which the pattern was named her last name. The pattern is: "Skilton" or previously called,"Oregon". I had a compote and recently broke it. I had had it for over 40 years. I was of coarse very upset. I don't know how to put pictures on yet, but if you happen to find a piece in your collection, I would love to know. I am sorry I do not know much else about glass, but there are several sights you can find on the net. I bought my piece on ebay. It was a good buy.
I hope you have good luck finding out what you have. nanajsh.

just stumbled across this topic. Debodun, your Mom has some lovely pieces. 40 years ago I inherited a box of miscellaneous Iris pattern including a huge punch bowl. I'm downsizing and have been trying to put a value on it before frustration sets in & I load it up & donate to local thrift store

I am in the same boat as you. Lots of pieces from the family. There is a local glass collectors club that holds a show twice a year and they let you bring in 2 pieces of glassware and they will identify the pattern for you. It's great because there are lots of experts around who can help you identify a piece. They have lots of guide books and can often identify a piece that is not in a book. They are an excellent resource. Hopefully there is a glass club in your area. Check with local antique dealers if you do not find anything on the internet

tessa89, the iris pattern is highly sought after. I would advise you to try to sell it to an antique shop that specializes in glassware. It's pitiful how many times I've seen people donate antique glassware to a thrift shop, only for it to end up in the hands of something who as no idea what they've got.
You coulds probably find a value of your items at www.kovels.com
