and I'm confused. I thought this room was for holiday crafts, it looks like I came to the wrong place, is this a card site? I see many post about cards and paper and not much about holidays and I'm confused. Can you tell me where to go for holiday crafts? Thank you for your help.
I don't mean to be rude but I wasn't looking for cards, I'm interested in holiday crafting. I guess I'll have to explore this site a little more. It is very confusing.
Welcome, Maggie! Please look through the older pages and you'll see lots of other holiday crafts. We have excellent card makers here.....but there are also oodles of holiday crafts.
We'd love to see pix of your crafts, too. We love new ideas.
Maggie, welcome. Click on finf and type in Christmas ornies and you will find many post for ornies, or type in snowmen . You will find many holiday crafts on the board. It is just that several of us are addicted to card making right now, but we all do different holiday crafts. I hope you will search the old posts and stick around to see what we can do. And also post pics oc your crafts. We would love to see new project ideas.
Obstacles are the things we see when we take our eyes off our goals!
Welcome Maggie, we do, do alot of Holiday crafts, it just seems we have gotten into the swing of making beautiful creative cards. I love cards too and make them all the time. Also we all do all kinds of crafts here. So you will see snowman in the summer time and I love to paint so I usually post my paintings, etc. So stick around and you will see that we do it ALL. Right now there is not alot you can make for Mothers Day other than cards and a few small items. You will be missing out if you leave. DJ

Welcome Maggie, from southern Michigan. So glad you jumped in.
Don't let the cards scare you away. Card making is a craft for all holidays. We have so many other crafts on here that you will have a hard time deciding which to try first. Read any post from 'Ennvoy' about cutting up cans. Tiny Coco has been really busy with her crafts and posting them for all to share. My mind is drawing blanks at the moment for other crafters. There are just sooooo many.

This is only part of the first page!! We even have our own site for all the tutorials that we have done to share with other. Don't leave...I'm sure you will find lots to do here. Also check the other boards on the Craft message boards.
I'm not into primative, but when the board gets going into prim...it seems it dominates almost every post. I just look and wait for something that WILL come along to peek my interest. Or post something that I am interested in.
Maybe that's what you could do...post something that you have done and get some different interests going.
Sorry for the winded speech...I just finished my calender and took it to the binders and feel such a releif. (I know...I'm a little late with this year. But decided to do it just a short time ago. Wish I could post it. It's a birthday calender for alllll my family. Sorry)
So welcome from southern Michigan and just jump right in.

Good friends are like stars...You don't always see them, but you always know they're there.
Stick around Maggie. These gals are wonderful. If you have something you need to make or learn how to do-just ask. Someone well help. We are all there for you. And welcome.
Welcome Maggie, from North Carolina!! I hope you stay with us. I agree with Granny (Jean) that there are loads of crafts here. There is so much talent shown on this board. I have found it to be the best. I think right now most of us are in a Spring mood, and we love making and sending cards. We even have a card swap going. But later there will be so many crafts posted here that it will put your head into a spin!! If you have the time and patience, you can go to the previous pages, which are listed at the bottom and top of the page. That is what I did when I first joined. It kept me busy for ages, but, wow, was it well worth the time!! Hope to see some of your accomplishments soon. Pattyo64 (Pat)

Welcome from Nebraska. I know you are looking for holiday crafts and they are here alot of the time. Mothers day is coming and well it seems like that is when you see alot of cards being made. You should have been here at Easter. There were other crafts being made. I know they do Christmas year around but you will see alot more Christmassy things when it gets closer to Christmas. I am so proud of the people here. They do some very beautiful things and I get to see them and maybe even try to make them. Boy do I have stuff to make things with. The crafts store loves to see me walk in. Stick around you will like what you see but remember the holiday that is coming, seems like most of the crafts will be geared toward that with other things tossed in. Linda
What holiday are you especially interested in? We can steer you to some good crafts either here or on the Internet that we have made. What's your favorite holiday? Ask and we'll help.
The reason this holiday! board is a little more active than some of the other craft boards is a history lesson. When HGTV first allowed picture posting to the website, it was on this holiday craft board first so many of us "old-timers" just stayed on here with our familiar friends.
We are going into a "holiday drought" season. But almost every month we celebrate a bizarre holiday as well, just for fun. It could be chocolate pie day or cuckoo day or whatever. We find these on the Internet and challenge each other to craft for them.

Welcome Maggie! This forum is full of wonderful crafters! And everyone is very helpful. If you go to find at the top of the holiday crafts forum and type in what you are looking for, some of the past posts will come up. For instance, ornies. You should see this place at Chr*stmas!

I agree with Granny Jean. I'm not a card maker either, but there's plenty other stuff and Christmas was just loaded with great ideas. Just click on Find and type in what you are interested, whether it's a specific holiday or subject (i.e. Christmas, gingies, snowmen, angels, etc.). You'll find lots of everything here.
Welcome, glad you joined us. This board is for posting inspiration and ideas for cards, wrapping paper, gifts, decorations for any holiday or special occasion, so you'll find some of all of those things here. Sometimes it's mostly cards, other times when you visit you will find other things dominate the front page, if your looking for something special try the Find buttom or you can always look at the older posts there are 109 pages of them right now. Hi Maggie, and welcome from California. You are correct, right now there are lots of posts on cards. I paint on cards (sometimes), but otherwise don't make them. However, I do learn lots of new techniques that I can use on different crafts. I am basically just a painter, but I have learned so much from this sharing and giving group. From time to time the type of craft will change, and holiday stuff will take over before long.

Please stick around awhile. There are ALL kinds of crafts here, just search back through some of the older threads. You will love it here, everyone is very friendly & helpful.
I hope you don't get discouraged and leave. This is kind of a slow time but I have done many crafts that I wouldn't have done had it not been for this site. I have to admit, I never made a card before until I saw them on posted here and tried them and now I am addicted. If I could paint - I would probably be addicted to that. There's something for everyone and always eager to help out.
