Does anyone know where to get just the swirls or if we can purchase a roll of this material and make our own? They use these metalic swirls to hang items at the bottom of them. Thank you

I'm not sure what you are talking about but I'm going to post what I THINK you might be talking about lol. Doesn't mean I'm right. Anyhow, if you go to a hardware store you can buy copper wire (I buy that color there cuz it's cheaper than craft stores. If you want other colors you need to go to the other places) and take and bend it to the shape you want. Make sure you hammer it out when it's bent so it holds the shape. Or you can buy thicker wire at a craft store or jewelry store. As I said, I know when I bend wire for jewelry it won't hold it's shape very well until I hammer it. Just don't do it too hard or you will make the wire look funny and if it's too thin that will make it weaker anyhow. When you hammer, I use a hammer with a cloth taped on the end so I don't get the obvious dents. Also, I lay the piece on a cutting mat I have so I don't damage counter tops, etc. I'm hoping someone else can give you a better way than mine but if not, maybe it will help you a little. Sorry.

Thanks teecbear. That's what I was thinking she meant. If she uses the thicker heavier wire she doesn't need to hammer it - just make sure it's going to hold it's shape with whatever weight you are going to hang on it. Would look nice and shiny then. It's only with the thinner wire to help it hold it's shape.

The swirls alone at a party store or Bartz is $6.99 for 12. I want to decorate 3 different rooms and would like to make as many as I want. Thanks for all the ideas!

Ahhh. Ok now I see. Only thing I can think of is to go to Michael's or some craft place and buy the thicker foil - not real thick but not real flimsy or they might not hang as nicely - and draw a circle that just keeps expanding from the inner point. (I know I'm not describing it right. I'm just not that good at saying what I'm seeing in my head). Then cut it out. Probably gonna take you some time to do that many but with that price you quoted would save you some cash. Of course the length might not be as long as you wanted using the foil sheets. If you do go this way explain to the clerk what you want so she makes sure you get the right type of materials.
