25 Large mittens instead of stockings for everyone. 17 Balzacs for the kids. Stuffed elephants and a dog. Aprons made from shirts for the girls - young and older. Fishing line trees for each family. Not making much of anything this year. I already have a few things done awhile back that will probably be given to a few. I have a big order for a Christmas party so I won't have time to make much else. I M Joyce - wow you will be busy. I love the idea of mittens instead of stockings. What are Balzacs? And would love to see pics of the aprons and clothes hanger tree. Everything sounds so nice!

The gifts I make every year for Christmas are mostly food-fudge choc & Peanut butter, cookies-thumbprints with strawberry preserves, m&m, mexican wedding, gingerbread men, iced sugar, etc. banana bread, lemon poppy seed bread, buckeyes, etc. If I didn't make them everyone says it would not be Christmas.
Balzac is a fabric cover for balloons. The kids love them. You put the balloon inside and blow it up then tie it and tuck the end in. The balloon won't break as easily. You can even bounce them. In the house, they aren't as apt to break something as a ball.
I do a lot of baking during the Holidays. I like to make yeast breads and cinnamon rolls. Then coffee cakes and quick breads. Baking cookies keeps the little ones busy and make fun treats to send home with them. I also make several pounds of candy. I give most of it away. I also make gifts in a jar for basket gifts. Like a pancake and/or waffle mix and a jar of homemade syrup and a jar of homemade applebutter and a some homemade jars of jam or jelly. Or some homemade dried pasta with different sauce mixes. Chocolate raviloi with a nice cherry sauce or carmel sauce. Some veggie pasta is always welcome.
Wow. Love your projects. Those aprons are so neat! Got a few that would like those. And as for the balloon covers, I had never heard of them either but what a good idea. I have a friend that has somewhere between 5 and 7 kids (I can never keep up with her family size lol) that this would be ideal for. Thanks for posting those sites!

IM Joyce your gifts look wonderful. The children in my family are all teenagers and they want money. The adults do not exchange gifts we selet a couple of needy familys and give to them.
I do give the family food baskets, this year is bacon jam and onion jam, and of course my candy.
