I would like to make some homemade sugar scrub for my show. Are there any guidelines I have to follow?

I have never made it but here's a few places with recipes. I imagine they would say if anything special needed to be done. Maybe someone else will see this and give you more help. www.tipjunkie.com/all-crafts/sugar-scrub http://wellnessmama.com/3628/l...r-scrub-recipe-easy/ http://tipnut.com/homemade-sugar-scrub-recipes/ http://bathandbodyrecipes.com/...r-scrub-recipes.html

I have never made it before, however I would think that somewhere on your package it should state that it is non-edible. DJ

Is the show in a home or in a park. If the show is in a home I would make sure that the buyers know that it is a scrub and to be eaten. If the show is in a park or public building I would contact the show promoter and find out if you need any special permits. Good luck.

You must list all ingredients on the label. Remember that you can still be sued if someone has a bad reaction to your product. Then it becomes a liability issue. Also, do not make any beneficial claims or it becomes a pharmacy issue and you have to follow the laws for that. Even to say it aids in the removal of dead skin cells. Or makes your skin glow. Those are considered medicinal claims. Some ingredients will make it medicinal also. A simple oil, sugar and scent scrub won't do that. You can say you like the way it makes your skin glow or how clean your skin feels softer after using it. Then it is your personal opinion.
