Hi all! I have lots of paper Halloween decorations that I've collected over the years. I like to hang them on the wall. I usually use double-stick tape, but our new home has VERY textured walls. And the tape isn't working. So I used packing tape rolled up into a roll. THAT'S not working. The things keep falling off the wall. What can I use that won't damage the wall but will allow my decorations to stay up? (FYI... I did hang several on our doors using regular double stick tape and those are holding on fine... so I know the tape works... it's just these textured walls that are the problem).
I don't know if this will help you but I hang as much stuff as I can with straight pins. They leave very small holes that are not noticeable. I have even put a group of 3 pins to hang a bit heavier picture. It will depend on the weight but that is how I hang lots of my seasonal decor.
Hope this is useful.
For textured walls you might need a bulkier sticky like removable glue dots.
You could also try Museum Gel. It is a sticky pliable substance that comes in a jar that is used to hold collectibles in place on shelves so they don't get knocked about. It is easy to use and easily removed.
"Welcome to reality would you like some popcorn?"
Thanks for the suggestions! The suggestion for Museum Gel reminded me I actually have some putty-type stuff just for that purpose. I'd just not thought of it for decorations. It's working great!
