My daughter purchased a Fold Out Scrap Book Album for me for my birthday. I found the directions on line and found quite a few websites with them. Enclosed with this album was directions along with a note saying there is a patent pending. Since this idea has been around for ages, is it possible for someone to patent it and how would I find out if one is pending?

According to that, Patent Pending means nothing. Only matters if an the Patent has been GRANTED.
