    Hello all you fine peeps.

I am ECSTATIC to have found you all. And love the cards.

My question: is there anyone here who works with photo and computer generated cards? I love all that I see here ... (and btw, where would I find the limit of the uploads, please?) but cards are my income and I send out up to hundred or more per month and by hand, whoa, can't see it.

Would love to share some creativity here with you all but haven't figured that out yet. And would totally love hearing from people with like interest.

    Thanks in advance.

Welcome CARDSWEKEEP! You have come to a great place! I do make cards, but not the pc generated ones. However, there are people on here that do. And I'm sure they will be along shortly. You really do send out a lot of cards! That's pretty great!

Welcome, cardswekeep. I've made a few computer generated cards when I was in a crunch situation, and of course, I've made lots of cards that feature computer-created graphics. Can't wait to see your cards.

Cool SE AZ welc ome to you

glad you joined us. I don't make pc-generated cards either...no pc at home but you could get ideas from the hand-crafted ones. I make the hand-painted kind right now but dabbled in wallpaper sample ones as well; mostly 3-D. I do this when I can't sleep at night and produce a minimum of two per night, many times up to 6-8. If I had an outlet, I'd make about 12-15 a night but that makes it "work" and not fun so I don't.

♥no capability to post pix, please use your imagination♥

    Glad you joined us, Welcome!
I would love to see some of your work, I use the PC on some of my cards, but not for the whole card.
Here is a link that may be helpful for learning to post pictures on this board, it is lessons by some of our members here, put together by ttrbb:

Big Grin well thank you all for your sweet welcome ... I went to that link and then got side tracked and ended up in 'picnik' ... that is totally fun and so much simpler than all the complicated editing programs I've been using... let me try here again.

I have a site where you all can goo to look-see but I don't think I can do that here ... still learning and trying to be respectful of the rules... Eek Wink

well, I just tried to attach another pic and my 499kb exceeds the max allowed which is 150kb.

If one of you could tell me how to adjust this, it would be hugely appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello,
I make my greeting cards using Greeting Card Factory Deluxe( version 4.) I always get compliments on my cards. I seldom purchase a greeting card.

love your name Leah ... I named my daughter that 35 years ago and one week...

Thank you for sharing the program you are using. I just looked at the specs and because 'cards' are my business, I just want to 'create' and train people how to dramatically transform and impact all of their personal and professional relationships and let my company to do all the printing, sorting, stuffing, stamping and sending beCAUSE of my volumes.

I've private messaged you with a personal note and invite ... thank you for your response, Leah ... I like you already because I think anyone who wears your name must be of beautiful soul. Smile

    Have a glorious day, M

CardsWeKeep...just what is your company? And how does it work? I'd be very interested in knowing. You talk about printing, sorting, stamping. Do you make your own cards and then sell them? Can you (and will you) show us some of your 'work'.

    Thanks Jean

hey there Jean ... dear Granny3641

I haven't figured out how go get pics on here of some of my work and believe me ... it is not so absolutely gorgeous as all of your all's stuff in a delicate manner of speaking.

When I try to attach a pic I get the message I posted above about my size being over the max ... if you all can help we with how to deal with that, as I'm only trying to transfer one file a a time... it would be hugely appreciated.

Otherwise, I'm not sure about the rules here or I'd just post a link for you to go look at.

Just saw you, Jean are from Southern Michigan ... we're not all that far apart ... and aren't you just lovin' this weather?

You all may pm me for my site until I figure out if I can put it here ... duh - I never said I was brilliant, just powerfully creative and time managed ... giggle

You are doing things correctly by putting your website link in your "Public Profile". If people click on your icon they can access your public profile and then access the link to your website. Nice website, by the way, good idea. If you put the link to your website in a post, admin will pull the post, been there & done that. Wink Eek

    Hi Margie, it's me again.

Did you find the instructions on how to post pictures and PM's in the link I posted above for the step by step lessons? There are some pic resizing links posted in the lesson, I'll try to copy & paste that part of it here, you can give it a try, if you still have trouble with it just let us know and we will try to help. I'd love to see some of your cards.
    Joy

Lady Texas wrote the great instructions that has help a lot of us learn to post pictures, this is part of her lesson from the step by step.

That is all there is to PAINT. Hope this helps!
    L~T

    IMAGE RESIZER:
Those of you who know me realize that I am not one for downloading a lot of "stuff" to my computer from the internet, believing you soon get rid of your "memory" with useless products. I always think that it is best to use the resources that are already on your computer. However, I found a tool that is an absolute must if you have trouble with resizing in PAINT, your camera software, percentages, or for any reason. It does NOT get any more simple than this one! Please note that it uses 2.5 MB of space when you download, it is for Windows 2000, XP, or Vista. Earlier versions of Windows are not compatible! The price is FREE. If you can RIGHT click & point your mouse, you can use it. It will put a link on your mouse, if you choose to do so! Put you mouse over a px, rt click, choose the image resizer, select the size you wish, click, & it is done!(Don't know anything about pixels? That is OK , you really don't have to. ON HGTV, the 640 X 480 is a good size to start out with. (Of course, depends on colors in your px to begin with! Size does not translate to pixels, BTW, they are totally different things!!)If the 640 X 480 is still too big (pixels, remember!) then the 320 X 200 WILL definitely work!! I did choose to put a shortcut on my desktop when prompted.
More Resize picture links, thanks Joy!

    * This one you have to download on your computer, but lots of people here use it, it's a free download:

I have not tried the two below, but a couple of our members posted these and said they are the easiest ones they have ever used:

Hello & Welcome to the board. You will love it here, everyone is so friendly & helpful.

looking forward to seeing some of your cards. I have created a few using the PC. Have not in a long while though. I used a simple program called Greeting Card Maker but it allowed me to use graphics from other locations on my pc.

OK now ... I'm frustrated beyond words ...

I use a variety of editing programs ... can do a totally bang up job with most but I can't figure out this dimension stuff ... I 'get' the resolution, the pixels ... but I'm lost as to how to get a pic in here.

Good thing my cards print out in 5 STARS or I wouldn't have a business.

If someone would like to private message me with their phone number and walk me through this ... I know it is simple to you all ... but I can't waste anymore time here trying to figure this out... I WOULD SO APPRECIATE THAT ...

    Looking Forward As Always,

    Margie

After resizing, are you still getting an error message when you try to upload? If so, ensure you are saving your files as jpg.

    thank you Carolina -

Yes jpg ... and I have no clue but I just spent a good amount of time on a post in here and was told I used a 'trigger' word and my post was not permitted.

Maybe I said I was frustrated and going back to touring the Green Home ... only G** knows ... hmmm, I'll bet that G word was the one ...

Thank you all for all of your fun and warmth ... really - if anyone can spend 5 minutes with me on the phone, would love to know that... have a fabulous Sunday.

In the mean time, I'm shooting out almost 100 cards to catch the mail tomorrow for Mother's Day.
