Vickie - I used nothing on my ornaments to seal them - you want them to smell nice, right? lol But I would save them from year to year in sealed plastic bags. After a few years, the smell was not as strong so I used an emery board to file the edges - brought back the smell!

I made some several years back and I believe the recipe used Elmer's white glue and applesauce of course and cinnamon/nutmeg... I may have gotten it off the Martha Stewart web site... start there and in the search box type in: Cinnamon ornaments...
I have never sealed mine either... Mine are at least 3-4 years old...(Still smelling wonderful too).. keep them in a plastic type container that take-out food would come in... store in a cool place.... Good luck - Herblady |
