I've been busy getting ready for fall shows - found a new love this year and that is recycling wool sweaters by felting them (hot washer and hot dryer). Then patching pieces together to make bags (purses). Kind of nervous to see if they will sell. Also trying to settle on a price. The bags measure 10X13" and are fully lined with several pockets inside including one large zippered pocket. Any ideas on price? Here's a link to my pictures:

Wow-are you ever talented! Your bags are beautiful! They look like you just purchased them from a store. Sorry, but I would have no idea how much to charge for them.

Oh my, your bags are beautiful!! And they look like they were a lot of work. I hope these sell well for you. Around where I live, the quilted bags sell for $25- $35, but yours are so much more elaborate, and I think well worth more than that. Good luck with them.

Your bags are very nice, and I would think the $25-$35 price sugggested above seems reasonable. If they sell quickly, you are pricing them too low!

They are georgous, I would think $25 or $30 is good price.

Stunning! I love the grey one with the pocket. WOW..You need to sell them here in Canada. I'm sure you could get $50.00 and up.

These bags are gorgeous. I felted wool, but didn't do anything with it. Love the embellishments too. The more open flowers--are they strips, or seams? they are all great.

Ho! No! Not $25 - $30! Remember you have to cover the price of your materials which you have washed and dried probably several times. And you made the bag with lining, etc. Then you want a little profit. Look around the show and see what others are going for. This is not the run of the mill quilted bag....its way above that. That is just my opinion!

Thanks for the comments, all. The loopy type flowers are made from seams, the hairy looking ones (I think they look like mums) are made from the ribbing at bottom of sweater and sleeves.

I have not been able to find anything similar to compare them to. I went to 2 large shows this weekend hoping to find something remotely similar to get an idea for pricing, but found nothing (that's a good thing - means they're unique, right?).
I think I will try $48 each to start with and go from there. I have found wool bags on etsy, but again nothing really similar. Some of those are outrageous - over $100! I think a lot of it will depend on area - some areas just have more money floating around than others.

I also sell the flowers separately. They are priced at $8.00 each and I've already sold lots of those. I think I will offer that if they buy a purse and don't like the flower on the purse, they can pick one from my stash to trade it with.

luvs2click, I think you have set a good price for your lovely bags. When I mentioned in an earlier reply that the quilted bags here sale for $25-$35, I didn't mean you should sale yours for that price. Yours have so much more work involved than the quilted ones. And they are beautiful!

Pattyo - I knew what you meant! It's OK - I just like to get opinions from several sources before making up my mind. I've had people telling me I could get $50+ for them and I am doubtful. I tend to be really conservative when pricing things, so to decide on $48 is a really big stretch for me - I don't think I've ever sold anything for that much at shows! We'll see!
