Very cute sign! It probably helps your sales because it will make people realize that they do not have the time or whatever to make it so they purchase yours.

Oh my gosh. How many times have I heard that one and not just from customers. Have heard it from family too. I tell them exactly what your sign says lol. I think I'm going to make one myself! Thanks for the idea!

I'm sorry i couldn't reply from home, HGTV only accepts me as a guest... so i'm at work on the lap top...
I can't imagine craft fairs now, with the cell phones... i don't do the fairs anymore... my mom and i used to do them together, she passed 2007, and that was that... it wasn't the same.

I received tons of comments from people, but they knew exactly where i stood! I think it boosted my sales too...
People would come up to me and ask me how i made things... or i would catch someone drawing pics of my things... really? no cell phones back then... well yes there was those big clunky ones...

I have, on occassion, been very blunt with someone who keeps picking up an item while trying to figure out how it was made. I finally told one woman, "If you're going to steal my design, the least you can do is buy one from me as a sample." She blushed very deep red and walked away. She was another vendor who had been coming to my booth to look at a little convertible box throughout the day, and I had finally had enough. Another lady who was standing there, started laughing. I apologized to her for being so nasty to the copycat, and I explained to her what had been going on. She said that I handled the situation pefectly. Would you believe that while she and I were talking, the copycat's partner came over and picked up the box and started looking it over. I took it away from her and said, "What I said to your partner, applies to you, too." The lady that I was talking to bought several items from me, and I gave her one of the boxes for free. She wanted to pay me, but I said, no. It was my gift to her for letting me vent. Afterall, the price of it was only $3. As I was packing up later that day, the original woman actually came over and apologized and wanted to buy one of the little convertible boxes from me. I had to tell her that she was too late, 'cause I had sold all of them. I knew that she wanted to ask me how it was made, but she didn't dare. Sometimes the crafting g o d s do smile down on us.

Linda,
I did the same thing on Saturday at my craft show. These three ladies were saying "Look at these wine bottles, now Clara that is what they were to look like you did them wrong". Remember we took pictures of these last year. Then they all came back later and started on another one of my new craft items and was talking amongst theirselves and I loudly said to the ladies "Could I help you ladies or did you just come over to steal my ideas? They just chuckled and said well we tried and we just can't make them as good as you do. They then walked away and didn't come back. Sometimes you do just have to be forward.
