I've been wanting to make some stepping stones for some time. got plenty of plastic flower pot trays, flat marbles, regular marbles in all colors and stamps. all I need now is quickset concrete plus my grandkids. I think this would be afun project for all of us to do.
The plaster of paris stepping stones I purchased did not hold up outside and crumbled with moisture. I would not like to see you put a lot of time in decorating them and have that happen.

I also had the same result as nancelee, they fell apart within a week. But Hubby & I made these ones from the concrete mix & they turned out great & have been in the outside weather since we made them & are fine. Wasnt really any more work that the others either (except I needed Hubby to do the manhandling of the concrete! lol) But he mixed enough to do 5 large stones & a block all at one time, you could easily do one or two at a time on your own. And whatever concrete mix u have left over (dry) be sure to put in a plastic bag & keep dry for your next adventure! Also, I used the river rock & the glass stones on mine, & put in the flower bed, if u are actually gonna walk on them, maybe sink the rocks/glass deeper in, They do get a little slick when wet. (As per Hubby)

A long time ago I purchased those kits they have for my kid's handprints. They just did not turn out too good. But they are still in my one flowerbed. Thanks for posting this though. So much cheaper and I would love to try putting these around the pool. With that low cost of the quickcrete I can actually afford it! (Already have tons of beads and stuff to use in them!)
