RedRooster and I have discussed this. She was planning a break from hostessing in June since it is a non-official-holiday month. But wants to participate. So here goes.

I'm hostessing a June "Quotation" Craft Swap

I'm giving you lots!!!! of time to come up with an ATTRIBUTABLE quote and a craft made with it on it somewhere.
First that means you have to name [give credit to] the person who said the quote or the origin of the proverb.
Second, the quote must be somewhere on the craft with quotation marks.

The craft can be any medium; need not!!! be a card or plaque [think outside the box] but could be; and contain the quote with author somewhere on it. Hopefully, you will choose a quote to inspire or tickle a funny bone. Please keep them "clean" [as if I needed to tell this group, NOT! ]
I intend to hostess the swap the old-fashioned way and draw partners from a list of participants, with the usual hostess responsibilities. Because postage has gone up so much, I'm going to do it the old way and ask each person to send to their partner. I just don't want the hassle of collecting and resending gifts which is twice as much postage now...once to the hostess and once out to the recipient.

I figure any craft that costs about $2-8 to send should be more than sufficient. No limit on cost of craft but we all know not to be too extravagant and make others feel badly.

So, if you want to join the swap, PM me before May 27th with your real name and address and I'll acknowledge your participation here at this OP.
I'll PM your partner's info to you no later than May 28th [Wed.]

You can mail your swap to your partner from May 28th until June 16th [Mon] .
Please don't fail this deadline or PM me if it's an emergency!
When you recieve your swap, PLEASE let me know so I can properly hostess and keep track of who still hasn't gotten their swap. It is ever so important to me that every single participant get a swap gift.

One of the great places to look for quotes is a book called Bartlett's Quotations. That route would be...quote first, craft second to fit it. But you can find quotes on a particular subject by using Google search. That route would be craft first, quote to fit it.
    Example :
Google Search result for bird quotation:

"Use what talents you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best."
    Henry Van Dyke

"A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song."
    Chinese Proverb

Please join us and put your thinking caps on.

I am undecided...I love quotes and I love swaps but I am also under alot of committments right now with life in general.
Just wanted to pop in and "Thank You Mamo" for the wonderful quotes!! Right now I am in a bird mode! I am loving all the sweet bird stamps I am seeing. They are just so precious, Now I have some sweet and encourging quotes to use on my cards with them!

Nyoka, you find your own quote or proverb.

I'll go check my PM's for addies if I don't have them.
