For those that would like to see a tutorial on making the snowman tree go to the bottom of this post and follow the link and password to see a tutorial on a smaller table top snowman tree....this larger one was make the same way.

love this snowman tree. this year I'm hoping to make one. I think I'll try making a table top one. thanks for sharing your tutorial for making this snowman tree.

I've always loved this tree! I do have a smaller tree that was given to me last year I should get my stuff together and to it. Thanks Diane for reminding me and YOURS stunning!

Thank you for sharing the snowman tree again, he is so adorable and there are probably some that come here that have never seen him before. And Paintlady has such a great tutorial on how to make him.

When I made my Frosty I used a tree that you placed the branch "hook" into a slot on each row.
So what I did is I just took the row of branches that I replace with stuffing.... and added them to the upper or lower set of branches. I wired these extra branches to the ones that I already had hooked in place.
So lets say I had:

Row A
Row B ....head
Row C
Row D.....belly
Row E
Row F.....bottom
Row G

On row "B" I replaced it with stuffing so I took row B branches and added them to the row above or below. (it is your chose as to were you place the branches that you didn't use.)Then I laid the loose branches on the next level of branches and wired them to those in order to hold them in place.
I got my tree from walmart and at the time it was only 20 full price and about 6 foot.
Just wanted to let you know how to use a tree that has removeable branches.

It is difficult to give a length and width because it depends on the size of snowman. I really just eyeballed it. Just remember that you will run a basting stitch around your material and gather it to the "fullness" that you want. When I got it to what I wanted.. I tied off my basting strings(floss), then cut off the excess material. Then you can either stitch the back seam closed or you can glue it closed. Mine over lapped enough and the snowblanket was course enough to hold itself shut.
I leave mine together, and store it with a Christmas tree bag over it to keep it clean.
If you click on the pictures in the tutorial, some of the pictures have written instructions explaining that step.
Glad you like the tutorial **Paintlady was very kind to go through all the work to show us how she did her beautiful trees.

Thank you SO MUCH. This year I am making one. I already have the polyfil and the tree (which I bought at a tag sale this summer for $7. and the batting. I'm thrilled that you showed how to make the hat. That was my biggest worry. It looks totally doable. Thanks again, Linda
