To clean stove burner grates-- this is wonderful. Mine look like new again. Mine looked worse than this since I cook and fry a lot.

Place the grate in a large ziplock bag; pour in 1/4 cup (or more ) of Ammonia-- seal and leave outdoors over night.

Next morning, carefully open the bag, pour out the ammonia and rinse the grate well, then wash and they are like brand new !

I discovered amonia for cooked on grease years ago. I seen this big roasting pan in goodwill and bought it. I'd heard that to clean all the baked on grease off, just pour some amonia in the pan, put in a garbage bag, close up with a twist tie and like you said put outside. I left it for a week. I couldn't believe it. The pan looked brand new. Amonia really works, but it really stinks. Liz

Thanks for the great tip. I've had amonia in the cabinet for yrs. Couldn't figure out what to do with it!!

I do this for my oven racks and range hood filter all the time. I don't put mine outside, I just put them in the bathtub and close the door overnight.

Thanks for the info on the added cleaning benefits. I am sure I will try my oven racks next.

The sun on the bag makes a big difference if you have heavy soil.

I even heard to do this for grill grates.

Tub and Shower cleaner
saw this on pinterest and tried it works great
12oz white vinegar heated in microwave
12oz blue dawn
spray bottle
spray and leave on for 30 minutes then scrub and rinse
cuts the soap scum like magic
have made up another batch and left in spray bottle to use the next time
beats everything I have bought at the store to clean the shower with

And the cool part about heating the white vinegar in the microwave is that when you're done, you will be able to wipe down the inside of the oven with a damp cloth. The fumes dissipate quickly and you end up with a clean microwave.
