It happened on the South side of Lac des Mille Lacs, Thunder Bay , Ontario , Canada , on May 11, 2013!

A friend just sent this to me. I have never seen anything like it and it is terrible. What could you do? Have any of you seen this before ?

It destroyed more than 20 houses in 15 minutes!

The ice looked like legs creeping up to residences.

Welcome to Ontario Canada...you never know what in the world will happen from one minute to the next. Thunder Bay is approx 18 hours north of me and one reason I would NEVER live on, near, or close to a lake, river, ocean. LOL It was sure cool to watch though. ( FROM A DISTACE )

seems like she was entertained by it! Unreal! Why wait to try to contact a neighbor AFTER it's in their house?? She watched it long enough...knew it was going to cause damage....I would have called someone as soon as I noticed it moving. The local Fire department could have put up barriers to help stop it or divert it in some way. Sad...very sad..it got that far.

That was scary. I know, can you believe she just kept talking about it. No one tried to go knock on the door or the neighbors door who may have a phone number of the owner, as well as the fire dept. What a scary mess.
