Did I miss something--You made this out of what?? This is so precious. And the kids in it are beautiful. Are you telling me you made this out of a gift bag?

shauna, thanks for the compliments..... it is called a paper bag scrap book because it is made of 8 white lunch bags that have been layered and then stitched down the middle to make a seam binding and then five hole punches made on the side . i will post a pic of a plain one so you can see or if you googel "paperbag scrapbooks" you will come up with a bunch.

WOW!! That is a great lunch bag album!! Your sister will love it and treasure it. So will your niece when she gets older!
These are so much fun to make. I made some for one of my BF kids for Halloween treat cards a couple of years ago. I had the best time making them and filling the pockets with treats. I will remember your idea and make some for special keepsakes like you did for your niece. Mmmm I wonder if I have time to make one for MIL for Mothers day? I need to get busy and pick out pics!!
    Thanks for the inspiration!

oh you need to tell me how to do this. This is cool! So do you lay the bags all the same way with the openings or do you go one and then the other way. And what do you do with the openings? Stick stuff in them? Can you tell I'm excited about this? Big Grin

you alternate each one open end then closed end and so on. and yes the openings are great for momentos. if you look at the first picture you can see a tag sticking out the top. i used tags to slip into the open end pages. the tags can hold info or special thoughts. whatever you like.i put the babys weight, length and time of birth on one. the first time she smiled on another. you can also stick additional photos in those open ends of the bags. things like babys hospital bracelet and mabey a lock of hair would also be sweet.

one more thing...shauna... if you dont want to make the actual paper bag album yourself, you can buy blank ones already assembled on ebay, they are fairly cheap, you can get six or eight for around ten dollars or so..... just a thought
