Hi pekinita... how about something like. Hopeing you build as many fond memories in this home as we/I have over the years.We/I have had much laughter here and sadly some tears. But the laughter always out weighed the saddness in the time we spent here ,,so please make this your happy home ...and fill it with Friends and Family you hold dear. And if you make welcome lights you could make one and leave it inside with the card. OR a wine bottle light. I have lots of each posted here ... as does Tiny coco in her photobucket link. Hope this helps ...And welcome to the boards.... SmileDonna

How about a pretty evergreen plant or tree with a hand painted, carved, or wood burned sign that says 'Bloom where you are planted'? Congrats on the sale, and welcome to the boards.

When we moved, I left a fruit basket and a bottle of wine(I knew they would enjoy the wine and their boys would enjoy the fruit.) on the kitchen counter with a card that said something like" We hope your family enjoys this home as much as we have over the years.

I've seen this before on the internet, so I did a quick search .....

Bread – So you never go hungry.
Wine – So that joy and prosperity may reign forever.
Salt – So there is always spice in your life.
And a Candle – So you always have light.
