I have always wanted a snowman Christmas tree but was informed by Shannon that a tree is for ornaments and she can't hang them all on one of those. So I sat here and looked at everyone else's and drooled. Well, the other day I went to the local grocery store and at the checkout line I saw a package of plastic champagne glasses. Picked one up - have no idea why - and threw it in my cart. (What the heck, only $1 lol). When I got home, I sat on my couch looking at that package and then got up and went into my craft/junk room and rummaged around. Came out and this is what I made. My pictures are never the best so hopefully it will turn out ok this time. If not, I'll come back and post another one. Anyhow, here it is: ![]()

Now here's my favor - the bottom is not done. I have thought and thought and all I can come up with is to wrap it with green and red ribbon in maybe a criss cross pattern but not sure how that would look. Any other ideas out there? Thanks!

I agree with Aunt Diane, he is wonderful just the way he is. Pattyo

Well, aren't you clever!!!!! That is adorable! Guess what we will all be making for next year? I would leave the stem of the glass as is and lay a mini tree skirt over the flat base... Summers are just this side of hell, but you don't have to shovel sunshine... Click on the left to show albums http://s76.photobucket.com/use...brary/?sort=3&page=1

This is sooooo cute! I'm so inspired! I will have to get out & see what I can find to make a few up for next year. May I use your idea? Thanks for sharing - he's really cute! as always, Debi O' Crafting does the heart good.

Vicky, that is great! Out of one color ink right now, but will print and keep and (maybe-procrastination) make next year!

Thanks everyone for the great comments! I would gladly leave the stem alone but unfortunately when I filled it with plaster (for weight so it wouldn't fall over all the time) there are little air bubbles that are very visable. Would like to cover them up on this one. Next one I will definitely make sure they are not visible! In fact, I'm thinking of maybe using die or paint in the plaster so jazz it up a bit without a lot of extra work. That way I will definitely use that tree skirt idea. Any ideas on how to disguise or cover those bubbles?

By the way, Debi O, anyone is free to use any of my ideas. That is why I post things here. I've gotten so many wonderful ideas that it's like paying it forward for me.

Very, very cute! I like the idea of coloring the plaster, or my first thought was adding some glitter to the filler---would glitter still look sparkly in plaster in wonder---?? Thanks for sharing!

Steph - I thought of painting but with it being slick plastic I didn't think it would stick too well. pfr4 - Love the idea of glitter. Will have to experiment! Thanks.

Buy a can of white flat spray paint and spray paint the base. Then you can paint it with acrylic paint in your choice of color.
