I do clay projects, and yes, I use a pasta machine to do some of them. The pasta machine gives options for thickness. I find it very useful. Hope that helps.

Do you use the air dry grey clay? It is wetter than the white air dry clay i have. Not using Fimo or that kind of clay.
What do you make?

I got a pasta maker today. Do you put anything on the clay before running thru the pasta maker before running the clay?

Are there any clay forums around?
Thanks, Eileen

Have mostly made little things to put into Memorial/Memory boxes. One was about two inches long by one inch wide, said "Forever in Our Hearts". Another was round, said "Norma ____'s Angel Wings Were Awarded on (date)". Had put a hole in that one to put white satin ribbon through and attached white feathers to it.

I've used Fimo and other brand names, but I also have a recipe somewhat like Salt Dough but better. Can be baked or air dried and it's smoother and nicer to work with.

Did that help you any?

Edited to answer your question! I'm SUCH a ditz. I use a tad of cornstarch on the clay and/or dough. Helps it not stick to the pasta machine.

As for forums for clay, don't know. I haven't even been HERE for the past couple of years. Usually busy quilting.

I used the air dry clay, but the stuff that Crayola puts out.. it comes in colors, but i buy the white then paint it after it drys. you bought the grey stuff, i looked at that, but it was to hard for my fingers to manipulate... the other stuff is so soft and pliable, real easy...
i used it on my owl that i posted here and the snowbud post.

One more thing....has anyone tried a dark stain and wiped it off. just want it to look aged...

Really like those. There are just so many things you can make from clay. Thanks for sharing.

I jumped too quick. Hadn't seen the last one. That's beautiful too.

I never used any glitter, so can't answer that one.

Missed the question too. Wow, I must still be asleep. Yes, I've used stain/wipe off method. Can't remember for sure, but seems like I used gel stain.
