Does anyone have any ideas using those OLD flopy disks for crafts? I have a ton of them and of couse they are no longer of any use. I've not been on here for quite some time because I've had nothing but problems trying to get back on. Thanks for any ideas. Diane

You might get some ideas at either Pinterest or Etsy http://pinterest.com/search/?q=floppy+disk http://www.etsy.com/search?q=f...ip_to=ZZ&min=0&max=0This message has been edited. Last edited by: nizza,

I was watching some show where this lady got things and made them into other things. In it she took used disks and made a screen with them. I think you might be able to use them the same way. She just made a frame with boards going across and then she took the disks and glued them in rows to the boards. She painted them beforehand so it made a nice pattern. It turned out cute I thought. Or maybe make some shutters for the front of a cabinet in a similar way. Or I could even see them glued to fishing line and hung in rows to be a room divider or even a curtain for a room that doesn't need complete privacy due to the spaces that would be there. If I think or see anything else I'll post again.

One thing I'd like to add. I'm sitting here at my desk and of course it never even occurred to me until I had posted the last one that those would be pretty neat as 'doors' for the front of a desk. I have so much junk in the top part of my desk and of course no doors to them. I think I'm gonna try to find some more of them (I have some but not enough) and try to make 'doors' to hide it all behind lol. Thanks for the inspiration!

I hate it when so many people have trouble getting on, just think of all of the people that we have lost and do not know it! I do not understand it, what's HGTV's problem? The ideas that I could find are pretty much what is on the pinterest post that nizza has already posted.

Ok I know this probably isn't the best idea but you could paint them and attach them to just about anything - like the outside of a planter - to jazz it up a bit. Paint them in different colors and make it a pattern. Or maybe paint them and drill a couple holes on the ends (not sure if they would crack so not sure if this is do-able) and use them as little book covers for a small journal or some other type of book. If you can do that one I think it would be cute to use that part that is not plastic to glue a picture on or a decoration like a flower or something. Or if you can drill them, drill two holes in the ends, paint them, glue pictures on them, and string fishing line or maybe embroidery thread and put one on, tie a knot on either side (this might not be enough to hold them apart if using fishing line) to hold them in place and use them as one of those banner type things? I know I'm not giving it the right name but here's a description = a line with these strung across saying Merry Christmas or Happy Halloween.
