Just thought I'd check in and see who all is still here. I haven't been doing much crafting...mostly just doing a little sewing for the youngest grandbaby.

I DID try my hand at painting a picture of my two youngest grandchildren as a gift for my son and DiL. They had a picture of the little ones standing at the edge of the Gulf of Mexico and looking out at the water. I thought it would make a sweet painting, and since it didn't involve faces, I took a stab at it. Here it is! Son and DiL were pleased!

Oh that painting is charming! Isn't it neat to know that it will be cherished and passed down for a long, long time? You've created a family heirloom!!

Thanks! I'm currently working on a portrait of my older granddaughter. She requested it, and it's the first time I've tried to paint a face. I've been working on it since right after Christmas...working only when I'm really in the mood to paint. I'm almost finished, but need to spur myself on to finish the last details. I'm just not into painting portraits. The painting looks pretty good, but I lack the skill to capture her personality. I'd rather paint landscapes if I'm going to paint!
