Have not heard of any reply from HGTV regarding
their suggestion of using a US flag to as a tablecloth to decorate a Fourth of July table.
Disrespectful? You betcha. What were they thinking?

They aren't/weren't. Have you seen their programing lately? Booooring!

Shame on them.. What is wrong with those people.. But I guess you just look at their programs and you'll figure it out. Haven't watched them in years

Saw an article about it on internet news. HGTV was contacted and apologized.

I recommend everyone do an internet search for and read US Flag Code or US Flag Etiquette.
